    Working under the direction of the Michigan Executive Director, the Account Manager will manage key payor relationships in the Michigan market. This will include matrix and cross-functional facilitation of internal and external relationships between Corporate functions, local market teams and health plan partner functions. They will provide hands on support to the Michigan Executive Director to foster those relationships, resolve issues and identify opportunities for growth.

     

    The Account Manager will also support new payor and product implementations in the Michigan market and assist in building the foundation for long-term sustainability.

     

    Responsibilities

    • Serve as the key point of contact for local market payor relationships
    • Maintain close relationships with key stakeholders within payor partner organizations
    • Engage cross-functional corporate teams, including but not limited to Finance, Utilization Management, Care Management, Quality and Risk Adjustment, Compliance, Contracting, Sales and Marketing, to ensure best-in-class execution of payor relationships
    • Identify and assist in the resolution of issues associated with complex payor relationships, including issues related to: implementation, data exchange, compliance, care delivery, etc.
    • Schedule, coordinate and develop materials for regular payor touchpoints and JOCs with the appropriate local and corporate leadership
    • Responsible for oversight of follow up items due to payors, engaging other departments to ensure all business requirements and defined service level agreements with the payor are met
    • Support local Market President with all payor-related engagements, needs requests, issue resolutions and growth opportunity identification and evaluation
    • Support new payor and product implementation and ensure a seamless transition to account management
    • Maintain reporting dashboard for each payor relationship to include all delegated activities, operational risks, status on implementation or outstanding items, etc.
    • Other tasks and duties as assigned.

    Qualifications

    • Strong independent contributor with forward looking goals of market leadership and P&L ownership
    • Minimum five (5) years of experience in healthcare with three (3) years of experience managing payor and provider relationships or internal operations/account management and service delivery expectations
    • Proven track record of strong project management experience
    • Four (4) year undergraduate degree
    • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications
    • Excellent analytical, oral and written communication skills
    • Ability to work with diverse stakeholders and think strategically
