Summary

 

The Business Systems Analyst will support the Business Intelligence team in reporting and data analysis by gathering requirements, developing documentation, and assisting with reports development.

Responsibilities

  • Work as part of the Reports Development Agile Team to deliver continuous business value thorough reports, dashboards, and ad hoc queries.
  • Translate business requirements into functional and technical requirements including report and dashboard sample layouts, calculations and metrics, and data mapping.
  • Follow up with business owners to clarify business requirements and process flows.
  • Convert reports requests into product backlog items that are ready for review and development by the agile team.
  • Ensure technical design meets documented business objectives.
  • Identify data gaps and coordinate with Business, Applications, Data Warehouse, and Data Mart teams to close data gaps.
  • Assist with reports development, create TSQL queries and procedures for reports and dashboards.
  • Develop test cases for use in development to ensure that solutions meet the business need.
  • Assist with solution testing and ensure that the solution delivered meets the business need as defined in the business requirements.
  • Complete data analysis and deliver ad hoc reports.
  • Use your operational analytical skills to design and develop reports.
  • Make solid recommendations based on the analysis and provide explanations for reporting results for both internal operations and our customers.

Qualifications

  • BA / BS in MIS, Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Business or a related field; OR 4+ years of equivalent work experience
  • Required 5+ years health care industry experience
  • Required 2+ years of experience with TSQL
  • Previous experience as a Business Analyst would be an asset
  • Preferred experience with Microsoft Reporting Services and Power BI
  • Demonstrated experience with Agile methodology
  • Intermediate level of programming knowledge (reporting code) and of relational databases, database structures and design, systems design, data management, data warehouse
  • Intermediate level of proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word
  • Strong experience with data requirements gathering, data analysis, data design, documentation, and problem resolution
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Strong organization skills
  • Ability to maintain professional and positive behavior
