Job Summary:

The benefits administrator provides day to day administration of benefit and retirement programs. Consults and advises employees on eligibility, plan provisions and other matters related to benefits and acts as primary contact for employees to resolve questions. This person also reconciles the benefits bills monthly, and processes same for payment.

Responsibilities

Oversees maintenance for the benefits enrollment platform, conducting new plan code testing and open enrollment auditing.

Audits deduction files for payroll and makes corrections, meeting payroll deadlines.

Maintains a clear understanding of the integration with payroll systems, including deductions and imports to vendors.

Corresponds with Payroll department, insurance carriers, administrators and service providers on issues related to billing, eligibility, coverage and deductions.

Engage in analysis, evaluation, design, development and implementation of plan modifications and enhancements, including participation in obtaining senior leadership approval and presentation to plan sponsors.

Qualifications

Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively, in writing and verbally.

Excellent interpersonal skills, and the ability to effectively explain program details to a diverse community of employees.

Understanding of current regulatory environment for benefits-related issues.

Possesses strong analytical skills and attention to detail, with the ability to prioritize and organize in a high paced environment.

Above average proficiency using Microsoft Office, including Excel, Word and Outlook.

Strong math skills and proficiency.

Ability to manage own time and resources effectively in order to maintain, improve and address the benefits needs of employees and managers.
