We are looking for a database developer to design and build the backend databases of our web applications using the latest database technologies. The databases are mostly based on Microsoft SQL Server talking to middle tiers and frontend tiers. The position grants the opportunity to create applications and components from the requirements stage, through design, testing, and deployment.

 

Developer’s primary focus will be to design and implement complete database schemas and work on different applications concurrently, with a focus on performance and scalability. Best practices and design methods will be utilized to insure the success of the projects. Flexibility, adaptability, and the ability to learn quickly in various technical and creative environments, while delivering quality work by tight deadlines, are key attributes of this software development position.

 

This is a full-time position, based in the Concerto Healthcare offices in Irvine. The position will report to the Application Architect.

Responsibilities

  • Data modeling to visualize database structures
  • Designing and creating database tables to store the application’s data
  • Writing queries used for front-end applications (websites, desktop applications, or cloud apps)
  • Designing and writing unit test cases for the changes to ensure quality

  • Acting as a liaison with developers to improve applications and establish best practices
  • Working in an agile team and ensuring timely delivery of the database tasks
  • Providing data management support to users
  • Ensuring all database code and scripts meet company and performance requirements
  • Reviewing query performance and optimizing code
  • Creating indexes to improve database performance
  • Programming views, stored procedures, triggers and functions

Qualifications

·         Bachelor’s degree in Computer Sciences, Computer Engineering, Information Technology, Computer Information systems, or work equivalent.

 

·         8+ years of overall database experience.

·         3+ years of MS SQL database design and development experience.

  • Proven work experience as a database developer
  • In-depth understanding of data management (e.g. permissions, recovery, security and monitoring).
  • Knowledge of agile software development and web applications.
  • Solid hands-on experience with SQL.
  • Familiarity working with .Net Framework, JavaScript, HTML and Oracle.
  • An ability to understand front-end user’s requirements and a problem-solving attitude.

·         Previous experience working in Healthcare will be preferred

·         Experience working in geologically distributed teams is preferred
